"The hike up was enjoyable as always, with lots of vistas and lots of climbing to get your legs working.
The hike down Mount Olympia Road is miserable. There are two miles of steep, loose dirt and rocks—a serious fall hazard even with poles. The first of these miles is heavily overgrown, including poison oak. Every time I do this route, I think to myself that it's not worth it and that it would be better to skip Mount Olympia." — sareine • Jun 7, 2020

"Lovely, warm day doing the peak around of Mt Diablo. Started from Clayton at dawn and from there to Mitchell Rock, Twin Peaks, Eagle Peak, Juniper Campground, Mount Diablo, North Peak and Mount Olympia.
The descent from North Peak and Mount Olympia are a bit steep and unstable, so poles may be helpful. Also, the trail from North Peak to Mount Olympia is pretty overgrown." — sareine • May 23, 2020

"Went with a couple running friends (all sub 2:45 marathoners). No trouble, brought a lot of water. Would be cool to come back to run and hit both peaks in one go, but didn't want trip to take all day (started at 3pm and ended the 9.5 mile hike at 6:30). " — garrettgardner • May 22, 2020

"Hit north peak after Olympia on way to Diablo. Trail a bit slippery, single track (even tho it's called Mt Olympia road). Very pretty. Bring walking poles. The peak has radio towers, bring your tinfoil hats (lol)." — colleenmarie512 • Apr 2, 2017
"Peak #2 of a 3 peak loop hike in Mt Diablo State Park. Starting from Juniper C-ground hit Eagle Peak first and finished the loop with Diablo. Saw many wildflowers but didn't find any fairy lanterns." — Nimblefoot • Jun 3, 2013
