"
Climbing to the highest point of the Sierra de Lugar, in primitive times this mountain was an island surrounded by sea, today it is a quiet and secluded place where nature takes its course, on the path I see some small mushrooms that normally grow in autumn, I suppose that the mild temperatures and some humidity explain their growth.
At the top I take a panoramic view of the distant fields while some butterflies and birds flutter over the rocks." — franciscobirruezo • Feb 16, 2025

"I did this route today in the Sierra de Lugar, climbing Peak 699 and Lugar. The afternoon was quite hot but a strong easterly wind was blowing on the summits and it was pleasant. Partridges and hares could be seen in the area and near the path that led to the peak, a fox that was taking a break was scared by my presence and headed towards the north cliff. I guess that fox and others are the ones that feed on those partridges and hares that I saw at the beginning. In the ridge area, large stone blocks are the protagonists dotted with some juniper and juniper trees, where the soil is deeper, pine forests cover large areas." — franciscobirruezo • Jun 16, 2024

"A quick excursion with my son to the nearby Sierra de Lugar, a strong wind is blowing from the north and we are alone in the mountains. We just want to breathe fresh air and exercise our legs. We see that with the last rains numerous bushes have flourished and the thicket has
hidden some trails.
On the peaks we look for sheltered places to have a small lunch under the sun's rays filtering through the clouds. My son is starting to love the
mountains now, I'm glad to see that my efforts as a child paid off." — franciscobirruezo • Apr 23, 2022

"This mountain can be seen from our house and today the low clouds covered it.
We have run the ridge along a small path and we have not found anyone else, having 1500 hectares to walk is a luxury.
There was a signal near the geodesic informing that it is a public mountain." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 23, 2017
