"After climbing the Cresta del Gallo this morning, I headed to this area near Las Casicas in the afternoon. Someone with a tractor has dug a ditch in an area where cars used to be parked, and it's no longer accessible, so I look for a space where I won't be in the way. I see new hunting reserve signs; it's likely that after a very rainy year, partridges and rabbits will be abundant around here." — franciscobirruezo • Jul 25, 2025
"Route to the 476 m peak in the village of Las Casicas near Fortuna. I come here to breathe fresh air and relax, and physical exercise is always good. I find some millipedes, little by little the animal and plant nature is waking up after the winter lethargy. Also remains of hunting cartridges that are still garbage, in my opinion whoever uses them should remove them later. I lift some rocks looking for scorpions but I don't find any, I remember when I was a child that my mother did it so that we could see them and be careful with them." — franciscobirruezo • Feb 24, 2025
"Circular route in the Sierra de Lugar, we first climb Peak 613 and then take a path heading south to Peak 619, from here we descend the rocky ridge in an easterly direction to reach Rambla Cantalar.
From this point the track climbs progressively northwards to Peak 476.
On the way back we stopped in the town of Fortuna to have some cold beers and recover from a total of six miles.

"September begins in Spain with a sudden change in weather, heavy rain, wind and autumn temperatures. I approach the Sierra de Lugar in the afternoon thinking that a storm may surprise me, but there are significant gusts of wind that greet me there. I collect some ripe almonds to eat at the top and begin the route at a good pace. I see enough flowers for being at the end of a very dry summer. I also surprise a couple of vultures near the top that take flight when they see me. I walk along the ridge towards the top and barely hear the bells of a nearby village, perhaps they sound like a wedding. When I return, I decide to approach Peak 476 and take the last photos of the afternoon before returning home." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 2, 2023
"We climbed this small mountain hearing shots of hunters around. It is not a hunting shake so we continue. After, we see signs of El Camino de Caravaca and we follow them for a while. Later we enter a small cave and travel to prehistory, it is like joining The Earth again." — franciscobirruezo • Jan 14, 2018
