"Today I climb the Sierra de La Muela in Alhama de Murcia, the temperature is mild and the sky is blue and dotted with cottony clouds. The forest has greened with the autumn rains and some herbivores such as the aruis are quite active, in fact I find some of them. Also some eagles near the summit where the views are good today. I take the opportunity to eat on the solitary summit while enjoying the whimsical shapes of the rocks that erosion has created. When I return I see a parete taking advantage of the thermal currents to fly over the forest and the Guadalentín Valley." — franciscobirruezo • Nov 23, 2024
"Today I went to the Sierra de La Muela in Alhama, this month of May is very rainy and cool and the walk has been quite pleasant, although a storm caught me again on the way to the top. I have stopped in a cave while it was raining and thunder rumbled.
I am still surprised by the rock formations on the top that are so eroded and I have been able to see some marine fossils in them. I have also continued along the ridge path to see the Barrancos de Gebas reservoir to the east. In total they have been about seven miles." — franciscobirruezo • May 27, 2023
"We have been with some friends and their children to make this route, the heat and the lack of wind have exhausted us a little. The route is not difficult but it takes a long time to reach the top. Down in the valley we see that the vehicles move at full speed, we eat a little before going down the same road. We end the day at a nearby restaurant, where more friends are waiting for us, it is the end of a beautiful day." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 7, 2018
"Very hot today ( 87,8 F )
We started at the same point as the previus time, but one mile past the Forest House we took a path to the right that runs near the rocky walls of the South. This path is amazing but somewhat dangerous." — franciscobirruezo • Apr 13, 2017
