"A route through the protected area of Cabo Tiñoso. These former military installations, known as "Castillitos," allowed the area to remain untouched by the coastal urban growth. Some families with children were visiting the old coastal batteries this Sunday. Sheltered from strong winds, numerous ships anchored, perhaps waiting until Monday to enter the port.
Some conservation work has been carried out on old military buildings to make the visit safer, so this combination of nature with old buildings, the sea, and the mountains is very interesting.
The climb to the peaks usually attracts fewer tourists, so I had a fairly relaxing time at Cabezo del Atalayón and Jorel." — franciscobirruezo • May 4, 2025
"I go to Cabo Tiñoso looking for the sea breeze on this summer day, and I find it in what was a fortified and impregnable military zone, I see tourists exhausted by the heat while I go to the peak and I am totally alone, the people before you stay near the giant canyons for the photo.
The view is splendid in 180 degrees. Shortly after, I descend to a transparent sea to take a bath among the rocks and eat a sandwich." — franciscobirruezo • Aug 19, 2023
"We move today to Cabo Tiñoso, our goal is Mount Jorel, within the fortification of Castillitos. It's a good day and families with children visit this place, the Vickers 38.1 15-inch guns are the main attraction, as are the views of the Mediterranean. This place was declared as of cultural interest and was restored." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 30, 2018
