"Slightly different route than last time. Some loose areas, but I believe it is the best route. We left a register for people to sign when they summit Caesar Peak. There are multiple high points on the ridge line. We chose the highest one to leave the register. The coordinates are 36.22902,-114.43928. We went to Pompey Pinnacle first. When we descended from Caesar peak back into Cleopatra wash we decided to continue down the wash. We encountered a couple of waterfalls, one of which you can't downclimb. There are work arounds that will allow you to continue. You will go through a narrow slot canyon, where the waterfalls are, and after that the wash will open up again. "Did an exploratory route that included going to a new peak (Pinnacle) that I will call Pompey Pinnacle. Pompey stands over 100 feet tall with a class 4 climb in sections. Found this route to be very favorable, except for the last 1/4 mile or so of the descent back into Cleopatra Wash. It was very steep and had gravel over solid rock, but I was able to pick my way through a lot of the solid rock. I will be going back in a couple of days and will look for a better final descent into Cleopatra Wash. " — Heartattackbruce • Dec 30, 2022
"This is definitely the most challenging peak I've done in the Jimbilnan Wilderness. This was my second attempt, plus another scouting trip. I parked at the trailhead for Cleopatra Canyon & made my way through the maze of washes & ridges down to the wash that leads to Kendall Cove. I hiked past the peak & went up a narrow, exposed, crumbling ridge on the ESE side. It was all class 2 (+), but felt worse! Definitely need high clearance to get down Boathouse Cove Road to Cleopatra Canyon." — StudioHoodoo • Mar 6, 2022
