"Great ski quality! Feeling pretty lucky since it sounds like most other places were wind hammered. Took shortcut, it was worth it to shave time especially on a cold day. Was a bit more tricky than the regular way but worth it. Feels good to get this finally on my 3rd try! Yay! What a classic. " — jakefinnan • Jan 23, 2021
"Mt Field attempt. Alders had OK coverage - was a bit of a problem on the way up but fine on the way down. Trail breaking the entire way, party of 2 passed us just below the crux then triggered a windslab. We all bailed. 3rd times the charm I hope?? " — jakefinnan • Dec 12, 2020
"Mt. Field is largely a hike on the steep scree and dirt. A few Class II steps to get through a cliff band near the summit justify "easier moderate" rating.
I had a much more challenging objective in mind. But with the thick smoke in the area and low lying clouds, I settled for this little mountain.

"the day started cold, but quickly warmed up to spring conditions. We went up the shortcut (recommended), and had good conditions. A crust of wind slabs would break often, but did not propagate. On the way down, several snow-compacted pactehs made for uneven skiing, which is too bad as this most be a spectacular run down with powder!

"ACC-Edmonton trip. First time I skiied with my airbag. There was a large group having lunch on summit when we arrived. They were lazy and we de-skinned and got first lines in the deep POW. A colleague slammed into a white wall that he couldn't see like the road runner.

"Our first trip here. A warm sunny day. Darren, Tracy, Jason, Rick, Kati, Myself. About 100m below the summit, Tracy had a sandy rock roll against her leg causing a lot of scratches but nothing serious. She, Kati and Jason waited there while the rest of us went to the summit. Over all a bit farther than expected, about 23km round trip, but a great easy scramble to the summit. Then the views!... pictures just won't do it, you have go there! Elevation gain for the trip 1365m, YTD elevation gain 31231m." — MtnJohn • Jul 30, 2011
