"What a beast of a mountain! I thought Carnarvon was such a cool mountain and imposing and that Sarbach was big too, but neither were a match for this scramble and effort. Kate, Jenna and I did all our paperwork Thursday/Friday and I picked up the permit Friday before we all met at the Lake Louise campground. I wouldn't say I slept great.... we got an early start about 6:45/6:50am and it took us all day. It was physically and mentally demanding, not mentioning some team issues that made it even more challenging at times. Sometimes I wonder if people know what they're getting into when they come out on the Kane difficults lol. Wow, this one was something else. I asked Bert to tell me that it was harder than Chephren lol..... he just said Chephren was different, so I can't say I'm looking forward to that when I do it either. We also ran into Pavel Glownia, whose name I have seen in many a register over time. Nice guy and we shared the summit with him for a while before he descended faster than us from the summit block. It is unlikely I will be doing this scramble ever again ahahahaha." — leigh-annewebster • Aug 14, 2021
"Great day out with Rob and Rob. No one else on the peak. Quick ascent to the last 250m where you encounter the steeper sections. Pretty much snow free and generally easy cruising to the summit. Didn't know the summit register was in the shack. 8 to go...

"I learned from Taras trip report, and had a few beers two nights before, not the night before. I made it to Field Sunday afternoon where I got my permit to climb Mount Stephen. After lingering around the visitor centre I met Brandon and Morgan who were also looking to climb Mt Stephen. Unfortunately it was too late for them to get a permit (permits are not given out after 5pm, and are for the following day only).
I met up with Alex at Takkakaw Falls and had some fun chats. Got to bed around 10pm, didn't sleep all that well and woke up at the same time as Alex, Rob Maiman, Babette and Kelly. They were off for a big Little Yoho traverse, and I went to Stephen. I drove over to the visitor centre, parked. I cut across the tracks and made a line for the trailhead. I went up and up and up, and caught up to Ann. I didn't know she had also gotten a permit after me. After we got on the ridge (if you can call it that) we decided to team up. We slogged out the lower part and found our way to the summit (we got off route a little bit). I think having another person is really key here. It helped quite a bit with route finding and some of the trickier climbing parts. We enjoyed the summit, an..." — BertB • Aug 6, 2018
"This Yoho giant delivers a punch! The summit ridge presents lots of deadly exposure, tricky class 4 climbing and even some exposed jumping. We saw an old rope and signs of belay stations which testifies to the difficulty of the route.
It took us 11 hours car-to-car not counting a summit stop. Most folks would probably do it faster. Two factors slowed us down. It was scorching hot day with no breeze. I started sweating even at 6am right at the beginning. And it was hot on the 3200m summit. We also consumed a lot of beer the night before. I felt dehydrated, thirsty and tired in the heat most of the day. Should stop playing with alcohol before strenuous ascents." — Taras • Jul 29, 2018
"13.31km with 1,840m gain in 8:30hrs.
Perfect weather, blue skies and no wind. Prairie Mountain and Pocaterra combined and on steroids: firstly, it a very steep slope with about 1,000-1,200m gain, then some scree and, finally, loose and very exposed ridge. No easy way down. " — alexp • Jul 15, 2018
