"My brother and I made a very slow hike up, due to my sickness, but the views were great from the summit. It was cloudy to the north, but the south was great, and we could see Mt. Wrightson, probably 150 miles away." — ZachTeich • Dec 31, 2022
"I was in Phoenix for business, and decided to cram a short hike into a Sunday afternoon. The first leg from Tom’s Thumb trailhead is a fairly steep grade gravel path. Things more or less plateau between the end of the first leg and the rough path that leads to the summit. This final assent is easy enough to navigate and involves some light scrambling. The summit offers great views of the rest of the McDowell Range along with Mount Ord and Four Peaks to the east." — tylerdelia • May 8, 2022
"Bushwhacked my way up from the low point right before the Tom's thumb trail/East End trail junction. I followed some small cairns up and had to squeeze through boulders. Found an easier way down (use trail) from the solar panels saddle.
The benchmark is not on the highest pile of rocks.
Awesome view of the McDowells and East." — Gabsolute • Jan 6, 2017
"Headed up too early and had some tough scrambling over a false summit only to find an easy use trail on the other side all the way to the top. Great views of Toms Thumb.

"From the Tom's Thumb Trailhead two of my friends and I set off up to Morrell's Wall and did some very intense scrambling up a large chimney in Morrell's Wall. After topping out on Morrell's we continued up a bowl that had a very long boulder field up to the top that we scrambled up. From there it was a moderate hike to the top of East End where the ammo box is. We then scrambled up the very shear rocks, from the east side of them, to the point where you see in the picture" — brett.zenor • Oct 8, 2012
