"Great day out from base in Wasdale. Started with the direct route to Kirk Fell, unrelentingly steep but quick. The ridge out to Caw Fell didn’t feel too long today; backtracking to Scoat Fell dragged a bit but had to be done! Then descended back to Wasdale via Red Pike and Yewbarrow which is always good. Slept well after a couple of beers." — johnandsue4fun • Apr 28, 2022
"1st peak on a long horseshoe walk, taking in Yewbarrow + North top, Red Pike, Scoat Fell, Steeple and Pillar, then dropping down to Black Sail Pass and down Mosedale, back to Wasdale." — davidlong • Jul 11, 2009
"During a weeks walking trip to the Lake District, we went to Wasdale and walked up Yewbarrow from Overbeck Bridge. After Yewbarrow, we dropped down steeply to Dore head, then up to Red Pike, on to Scoat Fell and Pillar, before dropping back to Wasdale head and back to our start point" — davidlong • Mar 17, 2009
