"Last day of our walking trip to the Yorkshire Dales. We set off from Hebden Village, crossed the River Wharfe by stepping stones, climbed up some tracks and country lanes to Thorpe village, which is in a fold in the lower hills. From here we climbed up onto the summit plateau, to an old shooting lodge, that could be seen on the skyline from the valley. From the old lodge, it is a rough walk through deep heather and some faint trcks to the summit cairn. It was a good clear day, so we continued over the summit, to the rim of the plateau and on to Cracoe Fell, where there is a large memorial on the summit." — davidlong • Mar 28, 2012
