"A grey day with low cloud and wind for the first nine summits - cleared for Catstye Cam and Birkhouse Moor. Hard, icy snow on upper part of Swirral Edge. Despite the cloud stayed mostly dry. Home to Susan by 3.00pm." — johnandsue4fun • Jan 22, 2022

"Staying at Bowness. Solo. By bus to Stanah Cross. I walked up the Sticks Pass. At the top of the pass I followed the path south to reach Raise (683m), continuing over White Side, Lower Man to reach the summit of Helvellyn. There were a lot of people about - in the course of the day I must have passed about 200. Someone was checking in some people at the summit. so there must have been some sort of event on. Continued to Nethermost Pike, Dollywaggon Pike, Seat Sandal, Fairfield and down to Rydal. Just missed a bus so walked to Ambleside. The day was cold with a little rain. There was a little lying snow on the highest parts with a cornice on the NE face of Helvellyn." — peter43 • Apr 1, 2006
