"The last time I’d been on this route it had been when descending from the ridge after a walk from Monte Acuto, and a visit to Colle Trevi. Then I’d struggled to find the path down in thick, dark forest, and had to do a lot of thrashing through bush to find a road. So this time, going up to said ridge, and then to the two unexplored peaks to the east, I was a little more careful.
My approach this time was from Supino, taking the small road that goes up from the fountains just outside town. This twists up before offering a track to the left which one must take and continue along for 500m before reaching a small, uninhabited farm area with two dogs and some sheep, just after a hairpin, where the road stops. Some 50m back along the road, the small path is visible.
The path is not marked and though it was fairly clear for at least the early part of the walk, it did peter out the higher it got. As I progressed along the twisty route I cut back the vegetation a little with secateurs. Half way up, visible on the map, is an area free of vegetation, presenting a large slab of rock.
