"I walk along the dusty path from Fuente Alta toward my goal today. When I look at the ground, I see small drops of resin glittering with each step, falling from the branches and also sprouting from the roots. Further ahead, behind a fence, there are some olive trees and several pomegranates planted with fruit about to ripen.
The steep section before climbing to the summit from this point is full of fairly sharp stones due to erosion and abundant rosemary. There are few trees at the top, so I decide to descend a little, looking for a cooler place to have a lunch of tomato, egg, and tuna empanada while I calculate the return time because in a few hours I will pick up my children who are coming by train from Madrid." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 20, 2025
"I approach this mountain again, seven years after climbing it.
This time, I use the Fuente Alta trail to approach from the northern side.
I find an old lime kiln that has been restored as I continue through the forest. The afternoon is cloudy and cold today, but the birds don't seem to mind and are quite active. A hawk eagle circles high above me. Its "view" is certainly better than mine, but in a way, climbing mountains is also flying.

"This mountain has surprised me by how rocky it is and her slopes. It looks like it is full of animals, for the remains I found, but I've only seen a few birds. Althought I warned my family where I was, it is not the place where you would like to have problems.
From the top I saw a good milestone but the mountain has looked wild for many years." — franciscobirruezo • Sep 29, 2017
