"After visiting the town of San Juan de Los Terreros, I headed northeast towards Águilas, intending to find a quieter spot for lunch, and what better place than a mountaintop? So I did.
At the 78-meter peak, I found a heart-shaped hole in a rock, seemingly natural, through which I could see the sea.
The afternoon was rather warm, so I decided to go to another peak, the 53-meter one, located near Cala Carolina. Near the summit, a sparrowhawk hovered motionless on the slope, waiting for its lunch. I spent a while there, observing large blocks of the summit that had fractured and would eventually tumble down the slope. I found it curious that several peaks along this coast have a similar altitude, leading me to believe they may have formed around the same time under very similar conditions." — franciscobirruezo • Feb 1, 2026
"A beautiful route along the northern coast of San Juan de Los Terreros, where the hills, cliffs, and sea meet. I came to this area fleeing the storms hitting my region these days, continuing the route that Belgianibex started a few months ago in this same place. These hills follow the coastline and fortunately retain their natural charm as they haven't been urbanized. You can see motorhomes from different European countries and solitary figures blending in with nature, as well as the occasional surfboard.
The order of climbing the hills is the same as in the photos." — franciscobirruezo • Oct 11, 2025
