"The trail begins at the Fuente Álamo archaeological site, a well-preserved Bronze Age settlement from the Argaric culture, known for its terraced houses, elite tombs beneath homes, and signs of a socially stratified society. Located on the hillside above the Almanzora valley, the site offers a unique starting point steeped in 4,000 years of history. From there, the path climbs toward the rocky outcrops of Riscos del Aguilón, then on to a rugged unnamed peak at 508 meters. Both offer sweeping views over the dry Rambla de Joaquínín and the surrounding sierras—a short, steep, and solitary ascent through layers of history and raw landscape." — belgianIbex • Jul 8, 2025
