"I went out to see if I could get up the ridge to this peak via a neat-looking canyon out of Valley of Fire. I parked at the Arrowhead Trailhead & followed the trail for a way before cutting into the canyon. The canyon was absolutely gorgeous, one of my favorites in the Muddies so far. It did go to the top. I then decided to go for a prominent ridge up the peak which didn't look too bad from the bottom... It was really rough, with lots of class 2+ & 3 scrambling. The rock was very solid, but also very sharp. I kept thinking I was getting to the summit, but I'd get up a bump & discover it kept going. I finally got to what I was sure was the summit, only to discover it wasn't...again! A deep split in the ridge prevented me from getting to the summit, though my gps track looks like I was on it. I descended the very steep & loose south face, rather than the ridge. I then dropped into a gully & a wash below/south of Peak 3228. I followed this to an easier descent route off the ridge which I discovered when I climbed Peak 3228. I wanted a better gps track of this route, since Gaia wasn't working on my first trip there.
