"12.15.21~6.5 miles, 2,800’ gain in 4:07hrs (including :30min hot spring soak) I jogged & scrambled to the river, soaked in the hot springs and finished off with climbing a few of my fav peaks with the best view of the dam & bridge. After yesterday’s rainstorm, Goldstrike Canyon was alive with running streams and waterfalls. I had the place all to myself which is very rare…peaceful. " — paula.raimondi • Dec 15, 2021
"11.27.2021~Date trek with My Husband Jimmy. Hoover Peak, Hoover Dam & Bridge Point (the lower yet more thrilling lump to the East, most never venture out to) and 1,862’~ 5 miles, 1,700’ gain in 3:04hrs. We enjoyed a leftover Thanksgiving Sammie & Pumpkin pie on the Summit. On the descent we took an old trail that goes south down a pretty canyon and joins the main Goldstrike Canyon trail, for a more intuitive return trek. Beautiful Dam morning. One of the best Dam views I’ve ever seen. Dam good workout. " — paula.raimondi • Nov 27, 2021
"10.8.2021~Peak 580 (Scofflaw) & Peak 1,862’ (because I was walking by it anyway), 7 miles, 1,800’ gain, 3:36hrs, from Goldstrike Canyon. I will provide my gps track upon request at [email protected]. This was exploratory to find an alternative way to Scofflaw (580) where I was more out of sight and to explore a sub-canyon that leads back to the Goldstrike Canyon Trail. This was my second time up to these peaks. I was Trekking in refreshing, light rain showers all morning on rain soaked terrain, from storms the night prior. I Saw a herd of Bighorn Rams on the approach. I tried a new way “in” to this forbidden gem of a peak. Animals got into the candy container reg and destroyed the plastic but the paper is still ok with some water damage. I didn’t have anything to replace it, so it needs a jar & new pencil. I took a sub-canyon back to the Goldstrike Canyon trail. I got cliffed-out by 20-30’ dryfall that use to have a rope. I found a go-around luckily and doubled back to see view the falls from below. While there I saw a shorter go around near a giant rock feature above the Falls. I may bring back a new rope so I have an easier access to the peaks near here. Fun morning!

"12.29.2020~Hoover Peak/Overlook & Point (tall cairn dead end) Traverse & Peak 1,862 (PauLász) with Laszlo. 4.5 miles, 2,100’ gain. Laszlo visits this spectacular peak often and considers it one of the best in the area and I agree. I appreciated the tour. It has the best views of the Dam and Bypass Bridge. It also has a rollercoaster traverse to 2 lower lumps (to the East) with exciting exposure. The end point has a tall cairn and the best views of the River. We were graced by a wolf sized coyote walking along a distant ridge. The expansive views of Black Canyon were divine. This was my 300th and 301st Peak. " — paula.raimondi • Dec 29, 2020
