"First mountain with 1000' + prominence that's NOT a 14er!! Great Sunday solo hike in the midday sun; it was honestly a transcendent experience. The flowers were beginning to bloom, the trail was wonderfully narrow (yet not in the slightest overgrown), the summit push had a fun sequence of simple Class 2 moves. Only saw 2 other groups of people on my way back down after visiting a blissful alpine pond just below the rocky peak! Plus, I wrote an entry for the first time in the summit cache, so that was sweet. If you're looking for one of the most worth-every-second day hikes in the Loveland/Estes area, this is your mountain." — ericmellott • May 10, 2026
"Began at 12:58, summited by 2:14 and returning by 3:22. Despite some snow on the ground, we found a trail, marked with cairns later on, all the way to the summit. Did get off the trail at on point due to it being covered in snow, so I had to do some climbing that wouldn't have needed to be done otherwise." — xnatedawgx • Mar 9, 2019
