"Third time to the top, first time from deer creek trailhead. 22.2 miles round trip and over 4k EAG was a bit much.
I had to fight the brush in Deer Creek Canyon but on the way down I was able to stick to the cairns more and it was much easier. Superb scenery." — Gabsolute • May 14, 2020
"The road is pretty rough and high clearance is recommended.
However, the hike is well worth it. The first part follows the Mazatzal Divide Trail which happens to be part of the Arizona Trail system. On the North side of the peak a big cairn invites you to leave the trail and start an off-trail cross-country jaunt to the summit. It is steep in parts but there are enough cairns to help follow a decent route.
Beautiful 360 degrees view on top." — Gabsolute • Mar 18, 2017
