"Solo. From car parking area at NH63895786. First outing with new GPS. Along tracks used to access mast then through the forest when I was glad I had the GPS. Finally a struggle through the gorse to reach the trig point." — peter43 • Feb 16, 2019
"Tuesday 24th October 2017. A nordic hike to the summit of Mount Eagle 256m/224m on the Black Isle, Ross & Cromarty. 7.1km with 115m of ascent. 1hr 30mins.

The car park near the huge 244m high TV mast was full, so I was forced to park in a lay-by to the south-east off the road that traverses the hill. I walked up to the beginning of the forest road, taking it east through an avenue of firs. At the first junction I turned north onto a boggier track that brought me out close to the access track to the aerials near the summit.
I located a faint track behind the aerial enclosure and followed it for a way to the trig point on the summit. This was another prickly summit encounter, as the trig was engulfed with gorse. A bit of a gap eased progress and I made it there without too much prickly unpleasantness.
After the customary summit selfie I returned by my outward route. I tried to make a bit of a circular hike out of it by taking a different route back to the road, but..." — marktrengove2 • Oct 24, 2017
