"Solo. From the car park at Spittal of Glenmuick. After ascending Little Pap and Cuidhe Cròm. After directing some lost young people to the path to Glas-allt-Shiel continued to Cac Càrn Mòr and Cac Càrn Beag. Decided to finish day with Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe and Creag Liath. Very misty and quite strong wind." — peter43 • Aug 2, 2016
"A hot sunny day, set off from Loch Muick to climb the peaks of Lochnagar. Went up the outlying peak of Meikle Pap first, then down to the mountain loch and up "the ladder" to Cuidhe Crom, getting good views all day. We then traversed around the ridge of crags to the 2 main peaks of Lochnagar, Cac Carn Beag being the highest in the range. We looked into the deep indentation of the "Black Spout" just below the summit cone.We then descended the Glas Allt past waterfalls to Loch Muick and a lochside walk back to our start point." — davidlong • Jul 7, 2013
"With Fraser and Stuart Stronach. We left Spittal of Glen Muick, going to Corrie of Lochnagar, intending to climb Parallel Gully A. Due to avalanche danger we climbed the LH branch of Black Spout Gully. We went to the summits of Cac Carn Mor and Cac Carn Beag. We descended to the col with Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe, which Stuart ascended, then went to the north of Meikle Pap to get back to Spittal of Glen Muick. It was somewhat misty on top with good weather in the afternoon.

"With Bill Brooker, John Hay, Kenny Grassick and David Craig. From Spittal of Glen Muick, going to the col between Cuidhe Crom and Meikle Pap where Kenny and David left us to walk round the rim of Corrie of Lochnagar and down Black Spout with the intention of climbing the Link, but due to conditions climbed Black Spout Buttress instead. Bill and I descended to the corrie and climbed a variation of Causeway Rib, taking alternate leads. Bill had made the first ascent of Causeway Rib. Our variation was a little to the right, grade likely S. We descended Black Spout Gully. Cold and misty with some hail." — peter43 • Aug 23, 1986
"Cairngorm Club meet. With two friends. From Spittal of Glenmuick to Meikle Pap. Very little snow until 700m level reached. Then down to col and up Ladder, which was slightly tricky due to high wind and icy patches. Ascending into mist, which however lifted as we reached the top of the Ladder to reveal good views especially of snow covered White Mounth. Then into mist again as we ascended towards Cac Carn Mor. What had been rain before reaching Meikle Pap became hail driven hard by the wind. Descended NW and then N down steep slopes, icy and with some hard snow to Meall Coire na Saobhaidhe. Continued to Conachcraig." — peter43 • Jan 15, 1983
"With Anne, Katherine, Jonathan and James Bellarby, Rachel Hudson. From Spittal of Glen Muick to the col between Meikle Pap and the main mountain of Lochnagar. Jonathan went separately to the north of the lochan. The rest of us went via the choire rim to Cac Carn Mor and Cac Carn Beag. The descent was via Glas-allt-Shiel to Spittal of Glen Muick. It was clear with slight rain on the descent." — peter43 • Jul 25, 1981
