"Took a bunch of friends from our Hiking club to one of my favourite peaks in the Adirondacks. Jay Mountain is an absolute gem of a peak. A good challenge is spots, numerous "peaks" before the true summit, and gorgeous views the whole way. " — HikingViking • Oct 19, 2019
"An amazing day on the trail with rain, sleet, sun and snow.Four seasons wrapped into one hike and a bit windy on the summits but views to die for,, wish we could have stayed longer " — ramjet1963 • Oct 13, 2018
"We orphaned Jay Central and Main peaks back in April due to conditions. Today we headed back down to the Adirondacks to try again and see the beautiful Autumn colours. The views did not disappoint. Third time on the Lookout and Western, Second time on Central and Jay Mtn main summit." — HikingViking • Oct 13, 2018
"Hurried up Jay in order to catch the sunset. The Sunset was a bust as far as colors go, but the views were beautiful nonetheless. I made it only to the lookout, I'll save the true summit for when I'm not racing against daylight." — Right-On • Sep 27, 2018
"I’ve learned that my hike out to Jay Mountain today actually denotes 4 separate pages / peaks on here. I’m not writing a separate report for 4 separate things, so see my full trip report on Jay Mountain (proper). I’ll call this: Bump 1. " — kellieirene • Sep 8, 2018
"Second time heading up to Jay. This time due to conditions, we only managed the Lookout and the Western Peak. The views were as ever, incredible. Lot's of snow and ice up there Today." — HikingViking • Apr 21, 2018
"Our first time up Jay Mountain, great views from here of where we had to go next. The Lookout marks the end of the marked trail. To get to the other peaks from here, you need to follow cairns. I'd say bushwahck, but that sounds too harsh for what it is. A beautiful open ridge with an easy to follow herdpath. I am sure there are people who have hiked here and thought that THIS was Jay Mtn !! Beautiful spot though, and a great shorter hike if you don't want to continue the extra 1.5 miles to Jay itself.
