"Took a bunch of friends from our Hiking club to one of my favourite peaks in the Adirondacks. Jay Mountain is an absolute gem of a peak. A good challenge is spots, numerous "peaks" before the true summit, and gorgeous views the whole way. " — HikingViking • Oct 19, 2019
"We orphaned Jay Central and Main peaks back in April due to conditions. Today we headed back down to the Adirondacks to try again and see the beautiful Autumn colours. The views did not disappoint. Third time on the Lookout and Western, Second time on Central and Jay Mtn main summit." — HikingViking • Oct 13, 2018
"I’ve learned that my hike out to Jay Mountain today actually denotes 4 separate pages / peaks on here. I’m not writing a separate report for 4 separate things, so see my full trip report on Jay Mountain (proper). I’ll call this: Bump 3. " — kellieirene • Sep 8, 2018
"Wasn't happening Today. The trail was covered in ice and snow and couldn't be located (Herdpath). Also, there was so much melting slushy snow and ice on the open rock, it was too dangerous even with microspikes. Crampons and an Ice Axe may have helped, but we thought it was best to leave this for another day. Been here once before anyway, and the views from the other nearby peaks, were simply stunning." — HikingViking • Apr 21, 2018
"So, this is the peak that I think most people thought was "Jay Mountain Summit". The area looks like it should be, and on reaching here, you wish it was, but Jay is a bit more down then up before the summit proper. A nice spot none the less, and a peak I figured needed to be added here to help others when it comes to adding "Jay" to their 29er quest. A great hike to do by itself, if you don't wish to continue onto Jay. Great views, breathtaking in fact. A great open rocky summit that will leave you wanting more." — HikingViking • May 27, 2017
"This is what most people mistake to be the "true" summit of Jay, when in fact is is only one of three significant peaks. A hike just to this peak alone is worth it however, the challenge to get here and the views are great." — RangersApprentice • May 27, 2017
