"Parked by Martindale Church at NY 43572 19154 - plenty of parking. We walked SW down the lane and over Howe Grain, and then took the path up to a north-south track on the eastern side of the fell. We followed this south a short way, then took a small path up west by a wall to the northern end of the ridge. We then followed the path south up the ridge, over Winter Crag, and then on to the summit of Beda Fell. We continued SSW to col, and then followed a path up onto the summit ridge of Angletarn Pikes - a fine little peak with great views. We continued on north to Place Fell. We then followed a path off the fell and down north to Boredale Hause. A wide path north led us up the south ridge of the fell to the trig point and summit of Place Fell. We followed a path NE down to a col by a ruined building. Then a faint path up to unmarked summit of High Dodd. For the descent, we walked down steeply NE on good path over Sleet Fell and down to a lane. Then by overgrown bridleway past Highgate and up by a lane back to Martindale Church. With DM.
Hot and sunny, with a fresh SW wind.

"A circular walk, taking in 5 peaks. Set off from near Sandwick at Ullswater. Walked along the road, then across a stream and up the slopes of Sleet Fell to High Dodd. We then dropped down to a col and up via Hart Crags to Place Fell. Here we had good views of Lake District peaks and along and across Ullswater. From here we headed north to The Knight, enjoying improving weather and good views all around. We then headed onto Birk Fell and Low Birk Fell, before dropping down to Sandwick and returning to our start point" — davidlong • Mar 21, 2012
