"A tough climb to the top of this epically long ridge. This particular route is near 13 miles out and back. Late spring wildflowers in full bloom including Catawba Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel. On the way down, I hiked along a momma bear and her cub. " — runshigleyrun • May 20, 2023
"Finally, I made it up the challenging, steep Fort Lewis Mountain in Havens Wildlife Management. Although it's literally in my school's backyard, its hunted on all days but Sundays. So...I've just never gone up. It's a beast and I went up the "easy" way. Just a shade under 2,800 feet of climbing. Speaking of shade, there wasn't much as I hiked/ran in the middle of a 92-degree day. It was brutal, but the wildflowers were in full effect. " — runshigleyrun • May 22, 2022
