"Sierra de los Pinos is located in San Juan de los Terreros, Costa de Almeria, Spain. The easternmost village of Andalucia and part of the larger agglomaration of Pulpi A nice trailpath leads from the golf resort of San Juan to the base of Peak 426m and all the way to most southern El Pinar. Heading east after the steep descent through dense green to reach a jeep track, which brings you back through the valley to the startingpoint." — belgianIbex • Feb 22, 2025
"Starting place is the Golf Resort of San Juan de Terreros. Follow the PRA walkingpath from San Juan to Pulpi. Turn nord to the base of the Peak 426m. From the base follow the unspecified (south-east) path which leads you to the Sierra de Pinos and El Pinar. Spectacular views on the Mediterranean sea and on the Sierra del Aguillon in the nord." — belgianIbex • Feb 5, 2025
"From the A-332 road (to Aguillas) take a left turn into a dirt road which leads to the foot of Cerro Bajo. The official climb to Cerro Bajo and El Pillar starts from nordeast to the saddle between these two mountain peaks. I take the shorter path on the steep east sloop of Cerro Bajo. No path, expect sticky green and minor rocks. From the summit of Cerro Bajo you descend to the saddle where the official path takes you to the summit of El Pilar. Stonemen everywhere to guide you on the steep path. The summit has a geodetic mark and a box to leave a message. Stunning views on the high peaks of the mountain range (the crown of Sierra de Aguilon!), the Mediterranean coastline with Cocon de Cope peak and the Isla del Fraile island. Below the summit of El Pinar are numerous caves. You can visit, but the path is difficult to reach (steep slopes, no walking path). But if you dare, you get rewarded with stunning views. Descend to the saddle, and take official path back to the lower valley. Total of 10 km walk/climbing in 3 hours." — belgianIbex • Dec 9, 2024
