"With a friend. Drove along the minor road to Chapelton from the A95 and parked just before the end of the road. Walked on a track, marked as a path on the 1:50,000 map. This goes initially through woods and then up the hillside. Continued upwards to Creag an Tarmachain. Ground now snow covered. We continued SW to the summit of Carn a' Ghille Chearr. It was cold, about -2°C, and a stiff wind was blowing. On the slopes leading up towards the summit we saw a herd of deer ahead, so we thought. However, they started to come towards us and they turned out to be reindeer. They came right up to us and two tried to find something to their liking in my rucksack." — peter43 • Jan 30, 2008
