"This one is probably really nice on a sunny spring day! Low cloud\fog and rather damp. Would like to go back - quite an interesting, quaint area, and the hills to the east look good for a wander. My route may get you in trouble btw ;-)" — adventure-stricken • Mar 8, 2026
"A nice walk approached from the south, parking at a layby on the B4368 just west from the footpath. I didn't have a map and there was no signal on my companion's phone. We walked up the track passing by the house and rounding this hill to the north. I'd vaguely remembered there being a path here, and there was one of sorts, but not to the summitt, which actual seems to be surrounded by concentric rings of paths. Given this was a large hillfort, the ramparts clearly visible at the top, it is probable these formed part of the site overall. Turns out there was one further to the east. At any rate, a short very steep climb up from the north, and then descending down a clear path going on to Oaker Wood where we encountered two flightly deer. " — vygodski • Mar 3, 2020
