"A great day for a hike with three good friends and 2 pretty good dogs. We started from the Sugarloaf Mountain parking lot, and walk to the trail head past Gondola Village. The trail was mostly dry with just a few wet spots. We meet around a dozen people on the trail and five other dogs and two guys pushing bikes up. The weather was perfect for hiking about 45 degrees at the start and about 60 when we ended. The views from the top were spectacular. This 3600' mountain has a bald summit offering 360 degree views. The foliage had not started to turn, I'm sure in another week or 2 the colors will be worth every step up. The trail is about 3 miles to the summit from the parking lot, and has many rocks and roots. There were a few spots where you had to hunt for the trail on the way up but it seemed more obvious on the way down. This is surely one I'd do again. Happy Trails!" — bwright • Sep 23, 2018
"Part of a Maine AMC YM hike. There was 7 of us in the group. We started from some Sugarloaf condos and followed a trail up the mountain. Most of the trail was well packed out. The last 0.4 miles was above treeline with some great 360 degree views. Some steady wind on the summit. " — newenglandwarrior • Mar 1, 2015
