"I was just not feeling it today. I had to force myself to drive there and force myself all the way through this hike. It's pretty easy. If I had been more physically and mentally into it, I'm sure I could have killed this. But today was not the day. It was drudgery. The trail itself was fine. The 2 outlooks are not spectacular, but nice enough. The South Cliffs are definitely the best of the 2. Trails are well marked. Had to exorcize a few ticks off of my dog after, so spray yourself down!" — mikewilliamsjr • Jun 7, 2022
"2 hike of the weekend, a good stretch of the legs after doing Old Speck the day before. A pretty steep trail but fairly short. The heat and humidity made it feel much more intense. An awesome afternoon hike however. Good views of the valley below and a quiet hike. Nicely marked trail! Very enjoyable." — tvanrosendael • Jul 14, 2013
"On our last day of camping in the white mountains we decided on doing a small hike before relaxing around camp and packing up. This was a quick hike but the weather was very hot and humid. A few nice views of the area. The terrain was steeper than our previous hike the day before but it made for a good workout for a second day hike. Kinda swampy in areas where they could use a boardwalk or even just some down trees to cross. " — ndewitt84 • Jul 14, 2013
"Trail ascends from parking lot on route 26 across from the bethel transfer station. Runs along the brook at one point ascends through more forest until south cliffs are reached. From here you can see bethel and the androscroggin river flowing through it. Trail then continues up through some more woods until the "north ledge" marked by a cairn. Trail immediately starts descending back to parking lot. Nice three hour round trip hike lunch at the top!
