BEINN DEARG - Munro
BEINN GHARBH - Deleted Munro Top
Cycled up the excellent land rover track to drop the bike just beyond Bruar Lodge. Up the excellent Allt Beinn Losgarnaich stalkers path to a boggy saddle where I struck off pathless for 1km over easy moorland, becoming rockier higher up, to Beinn Gharbh’s summit. Expansive views to distant hills (e.g. the main Cairngorm bulk) in most directions and not a wind farm in sight, hurrah! Continued, mostly pathless, on easy ground to Beinn Dearg then descended rounded grass/heather slopes on an easy path to Bruar lodge for a speedy cycle out (apart from one hill). Time, energy and weather permitting I recommend my circular walk over a standard out and back the same way.

"After a very cold night at Allt Scheicheachan bothy. With Rhona Fraser and, initially, with Nick Boss. We walked to Bruar Lodge where Nick collected wood and returned to the bothy. The weather was good, cloudy and calm. We climbed NW of Allt Beinn Losgarnaich to reach Beinn Gharbh and Beinn Dearg. Returned to the bothy. Much snow on the ground." — peter43 • Feb 8, 1986
