"The last day of the Hotham SOTA Summit. I was joined by Gerard only. We drove out to the Dargo High Plains Road, then south to Blue Rag Range Track and up to the high point just north of Mount Blue Rag, where I parked. We decided to set up the station on the knoll and did not attempt to climb Mt Blue Rag VK3/VE-021 as we were inside the 25 m vertical activation zone. We set up the radio gear and qualified the summit. After waiting to work two others on Blue Rag Range Trig VK3/VE-015, we drove out to the trig to set up the gear. We waited for the other group to reach and set up on Basalt Knob so that we could work them before we packed up. We then travelled to Basalt Knob VK3/VE-039 and climbed up to the summit. We packed up and headed back tot he car and drove back tot eh Great Alpine Road. Gerard transferred to the other vehicle and I headed north to Wodonga for the night. I worked the others later when they were on Mount Loch." — peterfreeman • Feb 8, 2021

"Part of the Hotham Summit activity weekend. Based at Hotham Heights in a ski lodge, we headed out in groups each day to activate SOTA summits. The first summit for the day was Basalt Knob VK3/VE-039. We then moved to Mount Blue Rag VK3/VE-021 to activate that summit. It was then back to the ski lodge for a couple of hours before we travelled up to activate the summit of Mount Hotham VK3/VE-006 for a late afternoon session with drinks and nibbles. We then retired to The General for the evening meal." — peterfreeman • Feb 20, 2016
