"I headed from Wodonga to Porepunkah, then south to Selwyn Creek Road, then Mt Murray Logging Road and up to Mount Murray to park near the locked gate. Climbed to the summit and returned to the car. I set up the station a short distance away and activated Mt Murray VK3/VE-025.
After Activating Mount Murray, I drove around to the southerly point on Twins Jeep track to park. I loaded up my gear and headed south, sidling around the western side of the closer knoll and into the saddle beyond. I then climbed the spur to the top of Peak 1357 m, known in SOTA as VK3/VE-245. I set up my gear on the summit and made the first SOTA activation of the summit. I headed back to the car via a slightly variation on my access route. I then headed out to Selwyn Creek Road and then headed north back to Wodonga." — peterfreeman • Feb 9, 2021

"A big day out from Hotham. Drove to Mount St Bernard and along the Twins Rd, Selwyn Creek Road and Tea Tree Range Road and made our way to Peak 1303 m, known in SOTA as VK3/VT-023. We set up the gear and activated the summit. I made only 4 contacts. We packed up and drove back north and up to Mount Sarah VK3/VE032. We parked and set up close to the high point. I made 10 contacts. We continued north and made our way to Mount Selwyn, parking at the base of the final climb. We climbed up and were soon making contacts from VK3/VE-049. I made 9 contacts. We again packed up and back to the car, then made our way around to Mount Murray VK3/VE-025. I made 7 contacts. We again packed up and travelled along Twins Road then up to the summit of Mt Hotham VK3/VE-006 for a social gathering and 4 contacts for me. We then travelled to The General for dinner before retiring to the ski lodge." — peterfreeman • Feb 3, 2018
"Another day trip from Wodonga. Headed south to Porepunkah, then south into the mountains. Made my way up to Mount Murray. Climbed up to the summit trig after crossing the shallow saddle. Set up the radio gear to activate VK3/VE-025, making 27 contacts.
Packed up and returned to the car. Drove along Twins Jeep Track to the saddle south of The Twins to park. Climbed up the spur to the summit of Peak 1646 m. Set up on the summit and worked 27 stations to activate VK3/VE-023. Packed up and climbed back down to the car. Drove around to the Great Alpine Road and down to Harrietville, then up Cemetery Lane to Shamrock Track and up onto the main spur. Turned north and along Wet Gully Track to reach Peak 1255 m. I parked the car down the track from the summit and climbed up the track to set up at the summit. Activated VK3/VE-081 Ebenezer Range, making 15 contacts. Packed up and retraced my access route back towards Harrietville before heading back to Wodonga." — peterfreeman • Dec 30, 2013
