"A pretty awesome spot if you’re in the Corryong area and up for some adventure. The views from the top are killer – think epic panoramas of the Snowy Mountains and all the beautiful countryside around it. Totally worth the trip.
Falcon Point is definitely the highlight. The views there are next-level, so don’t miss it. Embery’s Lookout is also a solid detour – great place to chill and soak it all in. The Southern Outlook, though? Meh. If you’re short on time, skip it.
Now for the heads-up: the drive up (Ranch Road) is kinda sketchy, especially if the weather’s bad (I went on a very dry day; wouldn't try it in bad weather). Lots of twists, turns, and narrow bits, so it would not be a fun time if the road was wet or icy. Once you’re on the trails, the Tower Loop Trail could use some love – it’s a bit rough and overgrown in places, so be ready for that.
All in all, it’s a beautiful spot, but you’ll want to pick a good day and come prepared. Clear skies, sturdy shoes, and a plan to hit Falcon Point – enjoy!" — domofutu • Jan 2, 2025
"We walked from the Mt Abrupt carpark to the Picaninny carpark, then up the Grampians Peaks Trail from there. It was quite rainy unfortunately so we didn't get any views from the top. We met someone up there and walked down with them which was enjoyable. Overall a fun hike." — Hiyouboots • Jul 16, 2024
"We walked from the Old Adelaide Road sign to Troopers campground then up the main path to Mt Difficult summit. It was a surprisingly pleasant day and we got some great views off the top. Then we went down the old track, it was extremely difficult and I would not recommend doing it in the winter. It took us 1.5 times as long to get down as it did to get up. Overall an enjoyable hike though." — Hiyouboots • Jul 15, 2024
"I walked with my dad on the Lysterfield Peaks Trail which took you over both these peaks. It took us four hours to do and was a very nice walk in a national park in the middle of the suburbia of Melbourne. Unfortunately, the experience was somewhat tainted by the Porsche 944 race that was occurring at Sandown that we could hear the whole time, but that is not a common event." — Hiyouboots • Sep 18, 2023
