"It was a hot day. We made it over the Yam shoulder and it was mucky in CMC valley. Some navigation challenges, but we got back on track. Slogged by the scree. Well Leigh-Anne did, I took to the slab and had an easier time. Was pretty beat when I got to the summit. The way back was better." — BertB • May 30, 2020
"Weather was ideal today. I took a different decent I went down north west slopes to old fort creek and hiked back to the CMC trail was long and I don't recommend it. There are several cliffs to avoid down the NW slope, i followed some animal tracks I could see in the snow from the top. An ice axe and or crampons would be good to have. I posted the picture of decent. The old fort creek is a nice spot with some views and very few visitors that far up the creek. So it was a good day and my 50th peak woo hoo!" — Randy • Apr 19, 2015
"Very long day due to trailbreaking in new snow and some routefinding. Slabs near the summit ridge were tricky due to snow. Some exposure on the ridge: a slip could lead to very serious consequences in winter.
A very worthwhile outing but I won't do it again. Too long." — Taras • Feb 8, 2014
"Solo trip. Summitted after going up East peak of Wendell. Did not want to do the long approach again so mustered up some energy to go up the True Peak. Some nice scrambling on slab." — dkmountainman • May 30, 2012
