"Began at the Maple Springs Trailhead. Ascended Silverado Motorway to Main Divide Rd. Continued on Main Divide to Pleasants Peak. Picked up a summit use trail the rest of the way. Then, it is another 1,000’ of elevation gain on the way back due to the undulating ridge of the Main Divide." — MikeTeeples • Apr 8, 2023
"This hike had great views from all of the peaks. The summit of Pleasants Peak had a sign, no register, but has an abandoned tent on top. When hiking Hagador Peak, it has just okay views and the summit of Love Peak had a ammo box register. HIked to all of the peaks using the Skinsuit Trail cause it was fast. 13 miles using the Skinsuit trail, out and back. Fun trail!" — lc444 • Dec 19, 2022
"I summited alll of these peaks in the same day in March 2021. The attempt to summit Mine II Benchmark was foiled because we hadn't hiked for a while. But the Knobcone and Coulter pines along the trail were so cool! This was our second longest hike yet clocking in at 19 miles. This video will help

"My second ascent of Pleasants this time started from the east side of the Santa Ana Mountains. Last time, I went up from Maple Springs Visitor Center in Silverado Canyon up the Silverado switchbacks; this time, I went up Skyline Trail in Corona to Main Divide going south, with both being very long dayhikes. We got a break in the rain, so that was great for my hike. The weather was delightfully cool, and the air was moist with fragrant sage, sagebrush, and with California Bay Laurel higher up. At Skyline and Main Divide, turn left, passing Beeks, the KSOX Doppler at Peak 3020', which I made a 30 yard detour to summit, then uphill to Mine II BM (off to the right where Main Divide meets a firebreak), then up and over a short spur detour to Hagador Peak, then down the spur to Main Divide again, and then south past a grove of Knobcone and Coulter Pines with some serpentine soil (Very scenic ridge and canyon views here!!). Then Main Divide rounds the north flank of Pleasants Peak in a lush grove of Canyon Live Oak and California Bay Laurel. It then rounds to the northern toe of the main peak where a very, very steep and loose use trail climbs sharply to the summit with a register ..." — brianpowell • Jan 13, 2019
"Started out at 5AM. I wanted to get there when it was dark so that I could test my head lamp. I was able to use it successfully for about 45 minutes. After my test was completed, I continued on the Pleasants Peak. I had planned to revisit someday to complete what I started last time, so today was the day. I climbed Silverado Motorway to Main Divide Road, then took Main Divide Road the rest of the way. The road made me climb both coming and going, since there are so many ups and downs. With no shade out there, August really isn't the time to do it. That probably explains why the road was deserted of other users! " — MikeTeeples • Aug 4, 2018
"My friend Brett and I took the long hike to this lovely peak in the northern Santa Ana Mountains. We started out at about 7am at the Maple Springs Trailhead in Silverado Canyon and went up the switchbacks of the Silverado Trail up to its intersection with Main Divide. We went up and downs of the rollercoaster ride that is the Main Divide Road. We originally planned to summit Pleasants Peak then hike Hagador Peak, Pleasants' neighbor. We at first missed the summit then decided to go to Hagador first. I used Google Earth to map the trip, and it erroneously showed Main Divide going over Pleasants Peak summit, so we missed it at first. Thus began our somewhat frustrating effort. Instead of the summit, we started going downhill through a beautiful forest of live oak and bay laurel. After another climb along Main Divide, we made it to Hagador's summit plateau at about 1pm, finding a private property (cameras in use) gate that was open, but we did not dare cross for respect of the law: the highest point of Hagador's summit plateau is a mound about 100 yards past the gate, and was only 10' higher than where we were. We felt a little jipped, but still a sense of accomplishment for ..." — brianpowell • Mar 4, 2017
"8 miles 1-way w/3,450' gain on 5S03 Silverado Mtwy and Main Divide Road, from TH: Maple Springs Road at Silverado Mtwy. 1st peak of 2-peak traverse with nearby (1.5 mi) Hagador Peak." — BradStemm • Oct 17, 2012
"When I did this trip I did what I called a Mountain Biking Peak bagging Back Pack. I was Young and I wanted to stay the night while grabbing some peaks on my mountain bike... SO I literally mountain biking with a multi day pack on while hitting peaks on the Main divide road lol. I started from the Santa Ana River and Made my way up Coal Canyon. After I hit Sierra Peak and Hagador Peak I spent the night at Beeks Place. The following day I went up to Pleasants. I thoroughly enjoyed myself on Pleasants Peak eating lunch with nice warm sun on me after some cold weather over the last 36 hours. I sat at starred at Santiago Peak for well over an hour before riding back down to Blackstar Canyon and all the way to the bus stop on Jamboree Road. Unfortunately the only pictures I have are too small to upload here." — 1-with-Nature • Feb 25, 2011
