"This was interesting day. I went to go check out a canyon to the north & west of this peak to see if it leads to some higher peaks in the area. The canyon was impassable (I included a pic of one of the massive dryfalls). So, I decided to climb up the ridge leading to Peak 7850 & see if I could get up it from this side. The slope was extremely steep & had lots of talus, but didn't seem too bad. There are occasional sheep trails to make things easier. I made it to the top of the ridge & continued toward the peak, which looked very rough. I had my doubts about trying to get up through the cliffs, but gave it a go anyway. The scrambling got really sketchy, so I stopped about 200 feet from the summit. I know I can get up this one from the other side. It was a really nice day anyway & the views in this area are amazing. I decided to descend a canyon which drops into Little Joe May Canyon to the west of this peak. It was a very rough & slow descent...lots of steep, loose talus & scree, brush, dryfalls & boulders...oh my! The Sheep Range is rugged, infrequently traveled & wonderful!
