"Man this one was a pain to get to . Definitely the hardest part of this is just getting there . I made it where I did in a 2wd rav definitely need some high clearance and good tires. The hike was just a walk up to the ridge line and then it was right to the left. got a little bouldery toward the top . Bushwhacking was minimal . Slight trail kept appearing and disappearing. Okay overall, a lot of work for a short hike . Also I couldn’t find a register or ammo box I searched up there pretty good too " — joshortman • Oct 31, 2022
"5.2.22~Mt Stirling. 13 miles, 3,500’ gain. 5 round trip Mtn bike, 8 round trip on foot in 5:57hrs. I was tired today from a weekend of running and workouts so this route wore me out. Gawd, the f’n bushwhacking & talus. I used Herb White’s track on the way up since it had a jeep road switchback approach that reduces the thick forest trek some of the other tracks on PB had. I was glad because it led me in a direction that took me to all the petroglyphs along the ridge (which was my main reason for coming here) This is a Remote area with a lot of solitude but it was a long haul to get there. Pretty wildflowers along the way and I saw what I think were Mtn lion prints. " — paula.raimondi • May 2, 2022
"Hiked up from below Gold Spring to the ridgeline, then across to Mount Stirling. From there, we traversed the other ridge down and back up to Mount Bulworth before descending back to the Jeep. Lots of petroglyphs along the way!" — Kevin • Jun 23, 2012
