"Day 1: Hiked to Lost Guide Lake. Good horse/OHV trail all the way with some muddy/boggy sections. Turn off main trail to the lake is well signed. Backcountry toilet and small established camping area at Lost Guide Lake. Day 2: Easy walk to South of lake, then hike into valley. Scree is stable for the most part until 100-200 metres from the ridgewalk. Bagged North Guide Peak [2911 m] as a half-hour detour from the route. Traversed South to the East of the ridgeline to avoid unnecessary climbing. Col at end of valley makes for 200-300 metres of easy walking, but is followed by difficult and slippery scree up to subsummit. Walk from subsummit to peak is relatively easy. Ascent time from lake to summit was around 4.5 hours, descent closer to 4. Day 3: Easy hike back along horse trails, but took alternate route on East side of Ranger Creek. Alt. route is narrower but much more pleasant." — timothysears • Aug 25, 2023
