"LVMC with leader, Eric Kassen. He and I were the only ones in our party, and our party was the only one on the mountains. 1) Steep Peak, 2) Damsel Peak West, 3) Damsel Peak East Peak.

"GPS got 5300' gain. Long day, 12 people! Thanks to Joel for constant good humor. Now for Pincushion Pinnacle -- please don't do this alone. I conferred with Bob C, and we concluded the current crux move on the N side is definitely harder than 5.2-- it is overhanging. I've done this 4x free, and peeled off once. We think it might be easier to climb directly up the from the saddle on what might be called the NW buttress-- it's been done by Dustin W, two people with a rope, that could be used to top-belay the second, would make more sense. I took down the rope I had placed 8 days ago, as I do not want to encourage people to try that route." — hwstock • Mar 16, 2022
"Parked in a wash at the NE of the mountain via 4wd roads, upper part of Little Red Rock. Followed road in canyon to base of NW ridge to west summit. Ascent and descent via this ridge; RT 4.5 miles. We made use of juniper shade for a couple brief rests on the uphill. Being in the desert and from Alaska this uphill definitely kicked in the defrost mode!" — patthompson • Apr 22, 2020
"Went out on a social distancing hike with our buddy Chris and because of all the Summerlin construction, we had to start from the western terminus of Far Hills Dr. Added quite a bit of mileage but a fun hike. The last names in the sign in book were Alex Honnold and his fiancee!" — acekelly • Apr 5, 2020
"What a fun day! Laszlo and I intended to just do East & West Damsel Peaks via the NE Gully, with a possible stop at Steep Peak on the way down. When we got to West Damsel, we decided to try our luck with Gateway Peak. The ridge traverse wasn't too bad and the views from the summit were quite unique. " — Kevin • Oct 26, 2019
"I scored an invite from the badass masters Hikers Barb S., Judy, Jacquie and Harlan. Fun day on a great distance, mileage and challenging hike. This was my first time and my 1st traverse from calico basin to brownstone canyon. We saw the pictographs and petroglyphs along the way as well. 13 miles and 3,700' gain.
