"Cloud cover all day long and light snow all day. Couldn't see a damn thing lol. I'm sure when conditions are clearer the views are quite nice. I did this hike a bit differently. Rather than do the bull creek hills loop I approached from the trailhead up to Fir Point and then carried onwards to Bull creek hills from there through various ups and downs. "Left the snowshoes in the car. The trail had water running down it, but that was gone when I got to Grass Pass. I continued up from there and there were some sections that required crossing some snow. The snow was mostly supportive, but once or twice I sank it deep. The snow was not much of a factor today. Great day out. T-shirt up and down, great views. Could even see Calgary on the horizon." — BertB • May 24, 2020
"Second attempt this Spring. First one was stymied on Easter Monday due to surprisingly freezing temps and heavy wind. This time we walked snow free half way up and then hit snow and put the snowshoes on. We kept them on almost all the way to summit going on snow then gravel then snow. But the snow was waist deep in spots. Got snow pellets and some bluebird especially at the summit. Great day out." — alexjoseph • May 9, 2020
"Feli, Lisa and I picked up where Stephan and I left off the previous two weekends out. The first weekend we went out with Stephan's coworker and his kid, but it was -31 with windchill and we only went up to the first high point from Grass Pass. The following weekend Stephan and I went up to another high point, breaking trail in some deep snow after the storm. That day we got views! It was especially hard breaking trail through the trees. The following weekend, Feli, Lisa and I went up there again. Lisa waited half-way from Grass Pass to the summit we reached. Feli and I highpointed two other spots higher than Stephan and I got. The hiking app on my phone said we were above the elevation listed for the Bull Creek Hills (2311m vs 2178m) and further in kilometers, so we probably made it and passed it lol. Not sure of the specific point since we're not using a GPS. Our total elevation gain was 1146m from the lowest point, so we had a great workout on snowshoes! Saw some xc ski tracks on our way back, so someone else at least checked it out while we were out there." — leigh-annewebster • Feb 17, 2018
"Snow was knee deep higher along the ridge in the places that weren't wind blown. The day started nice but was snowing lots by the end of the day. Descended south ridge visibility wasn't the greatest. When I was about one third or halfway down I couldn't figure out where the ridge went at a dip even with gps. The deep snow was slowing me down. It was getting late and I ended up descending steep slopes to what I was hoping to be fir creek. I found a trail that had already been traveled and made my way to the road. I will have to check google earth to see what happened." — Randy • Feb 3, 2017
"Completed the Bull Creek Hills Loop with two like minded hikers I'd met the day before while doing Grass Pass. Gorgeous views on what turned out to be a fantastic weekend, both Saturday and Sunday" — Mountainman • Nov 30, 2008
