"I needed military access to this area, so an active military like my friend Andrew was crucial just in case. Of course, we ran into someone in the training area, so that military ID came in handy. After climbing up this peak we realized it is used for training and had a couple of different routes.
One less small peak for me to climb on O'ahu. Only 8 left!" — nandorszotak • Jan 23, 2025

"Highest Point in Oahu! Was definitely a gentle giant, but man I got killed this hike! Super tiring. Unfortunately the peak was clouded and we were going down, clouds left, so sad no view up on the summit. Still a good hike!" — timothyevans • Jan 13, 2025

"What a climb! Another peak from the Hawaii 100 Highest list. This had quite a variety. Started on a rocky trail, followed by a boring 4WD road and finished with some amazing native fauna in the last miles. Like traversing from one world to another. The last half a mile to reach the peak at 4578 feet was like a magical forest 😍. It is a beautiful area full of native vegetation.
The lakes up high were another rare sight." — nandorszotak • Jan 11, 2025

"This peak was on my mind for a while; finally, today was a perfect day to climb it. It is part of Hawaii 100 Highest, so one less on that list :D
This ridge is short mileage-wise, but the elevation is relentless. Thankfully, it starts out with a trail, which slowly gets worse and worse until it disappears. The last 0.7 miles are a big traverse plus climb to the peak, which is pure bushwhacking. I had to move really smooth between all the native plants. The vegetation was quite dense but not too high, so it was pretty okay, but still tiring. It felt like I was in the Ko’olaus, just much higher.
Pretty great solo day out in the West Maui Mountains." — nandorszotak • Jan 10, 2025
