"I started at the icehouse Canyon trailhead. The trail goes up a canyon and goes by some cabins and waterfalls. After some creek crossings and a mossy cliff wall, I reached the Cucamonga Widerness boundary. Then I climbed up more and saw a small waterfall and first snow. Then I climbed up more to Icehouse Saddle and then climbed over to Timber Mountain after a short break at the saddle. The climb up to Timber was pretty hot, even though it was literally on 37 degrees outside. Then I climbed up to the top of Timber. It had terrible views of the surrounding area but also had a neat sign and register. Away from the summit further up the Three Ts Trail, there are amazing views. Then after that I went across a snowfield and then got to the Japanese Saddle. The saddle had nice views and was a windy respite free of snow. Then I climbed up the 21 switchbacks up to the summit of Telegraph. The switchbacks had views of Ontario Peak, Cucamonga Peak, Mt San Gorgonio, and the high desert. Eventually we saw snow again as we ascended past 8500 ft. Then we saw some weird deformed trees and teetered along the edge of some snow piles. After reaching a saddle area and going up the small use trail to t..." — lc444 • May 21, 2024

"Hiked 11/22/22 solo. Started early at Icehouse Canyon and went up Timber, Telegraph, Thunder and North Thunder in absolutely awesome weather with no wind. Some ice but mainly snow to Timber so no micro spikes, just careful poled steps where necessary. Put on micro spikes on the way to Telegraph with very little post holing but then had to use an ice axe because of semi-frozen snow sluffs taking out the trail up/down Telegraph - no trail on the steeper northwest slopes. Only used crampons for two traverses but if you don’t use an axe, you’re going to need them with poles to ascend/descend the from the northwest. Once off Telegraph, bare hiking boots/shoes were good enough. Completed the loop by walking down the Baldy Ski access road and then Mount Baldy Road back to Icehouse Canyon. Very adventurous and fun hike! " — Temecula-Dan • Nov 23, 2022

"I had quite the hike and it would have much better if I would have stuck to my original plan. My original plan was to arrive at Manker Flat at 7:30AM, drop off my mountain bike, drive to Icehouse Canyon parking lot, hike to Icehouse Saddle, complete the Three Tee's Trail, take the ski lift back to Manker Flat, and enjoy a 3-mile downhill bike ride back to my truck. I didn't really care about arriving late to Icehouse parking because I had my bicycle and if I needed to park up the road, I could easily bicycle down to it.
What actually happened was this ...
Everything happened perfectly as noted above, except after starting my hike to Icehouse Saddle, I reached the junction of Chapman Trail which I've passed a couple of times before on previous trips to Cucamonga Peak and Ontario Peak. Well, my curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to see what Chapman Trail was like. I knew it would add an additional 2 miles to my hike, but I wasn't thinking that would be 2 more miles of uphill and more consumption of my water and food. Big mistake. When I finally reached Icehouse Saddle, it was 12pm instead of 10am and I was pretty tired. I had drunk half of my fluids and more than half ..." — yatta3x • Jul 17, 2022

"Climbed The Three T’s and an assortment of peaks along the trail. Did the hike as an out and back hike beginning and ending at the Baldy Notch ski lift parking lot. This is also the first time I did all three “T’s” on the same hike. A long day on the trail." — MikeTeeples • Jun 13, 2021

"What a fun day! We drove down from Vegas after work on Thursday, getting to the Manker Flats campground a little after 8pm. We set up camp and tried to get some sleep, but the campground was so noisy, we only got a few hours before our 2am wakeup. We were on the trail a little after 3am to beat the crowds. Following Icehouse Canyon up, we reached the saddle around sunrise and took a short break. We continued on to Timber Mountain, Smetana Hill, Rees Point, Telegraph Peak, Thunder Mountain, Gold Ridge and finally Baldy Notch. We thought about hiking the trail back down, but the allure of the gondola was too great. We enjoyed a nice ride down the gondola, but we still had to hike a few more miles down the road to get back to our vehicle at Icehouse Canyon Trailhead. A wonderful young fellow saved us our last mile or so by asking if we wanted a ride.
(the road hike was not included in our GPS track). It was a tiring, but extremely rewarding day!" — Kevin • Jul 24, 2020

"May 30, 2020. Parked across from the Baldy Trout Ponds and hiked up the Bear Canyon Trail to Mount Baldy, then took Devils Backbone Trail over to the Three T’s Trail. Summit all three T’s and came down Ice House Canyon. Hiked back down the road to my car. Very windy, over 50 mph winds on the exposed parts of the trails, even though the mountain weather forecast was only 20 mph. 21.8 miles and 8,035 feet of elevation gain. 10 hours and 51 minutes on the trail. "I could think of no better way than to spend my veterans day then up on a mountain (or three). I joined my friends from Hike beyond the Hills today. We staged cars at Manker Flat and then carpooled back down to Icehouse Canyon Trailhead where we began our hike. We hike dup the canyon to Icehouse Saddle and then headed north to summit the 3T's (Timber, Telegraph and Thunder Mountains). After our successful summits we headed to the Notch for a well earned meal and beverage. After that, we still had a few miles left to make it back to or cars. " — Philip-Yoho • Nov 11, 2017

"Great hike today. We started at Manker Flat, hiked up to the Notch and then to Thunder Mountain and Telegraph Peak. On our way back, of course, we stopped at the Notch for lunch then headed back down to Manker Flat. " — Philip-Yoho • Nov 13, 2016
"Climb up from the Timber/Telegraph saddle was long and hot, but the views from the top blew me away. Sweeping 360s with Baldy, San G, and a distant San Jacinto. Very cool summit." — edg • Aug 2, 2015

"Long Hike up there and Route finding was not easy at times, Hit a few False Peaks along the way. The Peak Register is trashed and the Sign is Missing too. The Third Peak of Four for Today. " — Nuernberger • Dec 29, 2014
