"My friend and I summited Stony Ledge on the first day of our trip to test radio equipment for upcoming Summits on the Air expeditions. This was an easy trip from our basecamp to the summit, but well worth it considering the view of the surrounding peaks." — indystein • Jun 13, 2014
"Frank and I walked Sperry Road through campground to Stony Ledge. Outstanding views-especially directly east to Greylock summit! Lots of room on top for picnic tables, even a decent restroom. Before going out to the ledge outlook we hiked over to what appeared to be the actual high point in the woods nearby. Rain on the way out and ranger said 6 inches were predicted so he was checking things out to prevent some of the possible flash flooding. " — barbaratraver • Jul 28, 2012
"Great day hike in western Massachusetts on our way to take down Mt. Greylock. We were not sure if the roads to the top would be open.Well it was not and when we first got to a ranger station i found out that we were 8 miles from the summit and the trail was not a very good one. After talking to the ranger i found out that if i drove 20 mins i could still do a great day hike in less time. So i drove out to hopper road and parked at Haley Farm. We took the Haley Farm Trail to the summit of Stony Ledge. It was a really quick hike. My companion was not doing so well because she did some heavy drinking the night before but was able to keep moving. There was a good amount of people on the trail and after we summit the ranger in his truck made sure we were going the right way. Next up Mt. Greylock." — elbesto • Apr 29, 2012
