"Up for the long weekend. Loop of Snow and Rooster Comb out of the Rooster Comb PA. Nice warm sunny afternoon romp with most folks heading out as I came in. Had the summit views to myself." — Nimblefoot • May 25, 2023
"Nice views at the top of this well maintained and marked trail. Adding on the Snow Mtn loop made this a good workout! Limited views from Snow but worth the climb to knock out 2 29'rs!" — Retiredtop2004 • Aug 22, 2021
"Tom, Black and I headed towards Snow Mtn after leaving the Rooster Comb summit. Trail here was noticeably less used. We made 3 stream crossings on the way. Stream levels were more like summer conditions having no had no precipitation and warm temps for the past 2 weeks. The view from Snow summit looks over the AMR clubhouse and golf coarse and up towards Dix and across to Giant. All without snow cover. Very surprising for this time of year in the ADKs. Returned to trailhead. 6.25 miles in 3hrs 6mins. Nice spring day hike." — garyogden • Apr 11, 2021
"Hedgehog is a viewless summit but Snow & Roostercomb had your classic gorgeous adirondack views. There was a thick blanket of leaves that were slippery but beautiful. The foliage is way past peak but still lots of bright yellow trees with leaves dotted the landscape." — dallasdevries • Oct 22, 2020
"Intended only Rooster Comb and Snow Mountain today but was close to Lower Wolf Jaw and said to myself I’ll tack that on too. The red foliage colors are starting to pop. Giant Mountain looked beautiful from afar.
Had all summits to myself which I enjoy. I met a couple while descending who were from California and trying to avoid the wildfires. I told them it’s been unusually dry for these parts as of late, they chuckled and said it is lush compared to where they are which placed things in perspective. I offered them suggestions for places to explore and directions from memory while they visit. They asked if I was a Ranger. I laughed and pointed at my hat and said no but I do like wandering the woods.
The only downer was that my boots split, so looks like I have an excuse to get a new pair. A beautiful beautiful day." — scottturner • Sep 20, 2020
"MY 200TH UNIQUE PEAK!!!!
I headed over here from Rooster Comb, breaking trail all day. Trip report starts at the junction.
The trail this way was relatively flat, and before I knew it I only had .5 to go.. straight up. Again, crawling through deep ass powder snow with ice covered rock underneath it. When I finally hit summit, my breath was completely taken away by the beauty of the view. I hung out, drank a beer to celebrate #200, just 3 days short of my 6 year hiking anniversary, and butt-slid most of the way back down.
Rather than making the loop as I intended, I decided to eat the mileage, & backtrack my trail as I was starting to suffer leg cramps. Felt nice to finally just tune out and slog along the track and not think about where I was going.
This was a long day, trail breaking is tough when you’re solo out there, but I’m incredibly proud of myself and overall it was a fantastic, challenging day. " — kellieirene • Feb 14, 2019
"Second of two peaks summited today, and the one that completed our attempt of the 29ers challenge! This one was steep for almost the entire hike, with some tricky ice-covered sections. But we made it! Challenge complete!" — RangersApprentice • Jan 27, 2018
"Finished the ADK 29er challenge on Snow. Snow is an alternate 29er, along with 10 others, but doing the alternates is an acceptable part of the challenge. So for my Son and I this was 10/11 alternates to add to our 19/29 originals. Great day for views. The trail we took was short but very steep and icy. We since found out, if we'd walked a little bit further, there was a lookout. There is no sign indicating that a lookout is there, I thought it was just another trail that headed down. We hit the summit anyway, which was the main goal, light was fading and the walk out was in the dark. A great little hike and was up until Today, our nemesis, as we'd orphaned it twice in the past. Job done. " — HikingViking • Jan 27, 2018
"Climbed from Deer Flume (although a sign said the route was impassable). Great summit views of Giant, Round, Noonmark, Dix and Rooster Comb Mountains.

"Russ and Cindy Wilt joined Frank and me for a nice climb before the Forty Sixers Fall Meeting. We climbed both Rooster Comb and Snow Mts. High Peaks were obscured by fog, but lower peaks and village were an explosion of fall colors." — barbaratraver • Oct 5, 1991
