"This trail is quite nice. Well maintained dirt trail, beautiful aspen groves, and moderate incline. There are a couple of creek crossings, but this time of year all of them except for the first one are completely dry. There are a couple of downed aspen trees over the trail about 0.9 miles in, but they are easy to walk over. The trail gets quite a bit steeper at the 1.3 mile mark, more of the “hard” category than moderate I would say.
The push to desolation peak has a trail (even though the map says there is none), but the push to silver benchmark peak is a bushwhack. I tried to follow the game trails but there’s only so much you can do. 2 more wasatch crest peaks bagged!" — easton • Sep 25, 2024
"Three more peaks on the crest, starting from Bloods Lake TH. Some fun ridge running mixed with flowy single track, dodging lots of MTBers on the way back. Killer views up top, and all the snow from last weekend is long gone." — rsnipes • Oct 18, 2020
"I thought I'd do this in a sequence of peaks: Scott's Hill, 10009 and Silver benchmark. I thought my 35 year old mountain bike (Steel, rim brakes, and no suspension) would be ok, but that isn't how it worked out....I ended up hitting a rock wrong and flipping over the handlebars...major road rash and a ruined helmet. Some part of the handlebars tried to punch through my thigh but only severely bruised it and gave me a major charlie-horse. I was traveling solo (the wife was super angry about that when I got home and she saw the damage) but I figured since it is such a well traveled trail that I wouldn't have any problems if something went wrong. I ended up pushing the 45 lb bike almost as much as I rode it. Besides the spill, it was a great trip!
