"Final day in the park, so I slammed in a last hike to Sentinel. Mostly easy and boring, forest is kind of ugly through most of the hike. Kidney Pond is beautiful at the beginning. The last half mile to the summit is no joke. Almost all of the elevation is gained there. Views from the outlook loop trail at the top are awesome. " — mikewilliamsjr • Aug 19, 2020
"This is a great hike if you want to get some up close and personal views of the other mountains in Baxter State Park.
We passed a couple that was stopped along the trail, she looked exhausted and he had just hiked up ahead to see if they were close to the peak. They decided that they needed to head back down because they didn't think they would have time to reach the peak and check into their bed and breakfast. To bad for them because the peak was just about ten minutes away.
