"This remote little peak is tucked away amongst rolling green hills and deep valleys in the Cheviot Hills in the border area between England and Scotland. We started from Alwinton, a small village and followed the ancient by-way called Clennell street, over a number of hills and dales. This brought us after 5kms into the edge of Kidland forest, where we turned off the path, to ascend to the flat summit of Saughy Hill. Here we had good views of neighbouring hills Shillhope Law and Bloodybush Edgeand the other Cheviot hills. We descended sw for 3kms to the river Coquet where we turned SE, following the river, then ascending steeply over a spur of Green Side, then descended toa road to walk the last mile to Alwinton." — davidlong • Sep 18, 2012
"Otterburn was always that place you never wanted to go when on military exercise. It was always wet !! The area is beautiful though, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it, even though I was cold, wet and tired most of the time. Most of the hills in the UK I have summited, have been due to military training. Live firing ranges, signals excercise's or playing enemy for guys on courses or simulating fire fights and setting up ambushes. All great times in great areas." — HikingViking • May 10, 2004
