"This is in the Forbes State Forest. I've done this hike at least four times--twice from far below at the picnic area just off Route 40 and twice from the forest road on the summit of Chestnut Ridge--which isn't exactly "summitting," but c'mon. These low Pennsylvania mountains are beautiful, but not much of a challenge. If you want a climb, do it from the picnic area." — briansnyder • May 20, 2021
"Two of my brothers, and my brother's friend and I hiked up to Pine Knob. We parked in Hogwood and hiked up Pine Knob Rd., since the entrance to the park off Rt. 40 was closed. The views were great, and probably better than Dunbar's Knob (Jumonville) a few miles north. " — ZachTeich • Oct 5, 2019

"There is a small parking area at the end of Pine Knob rd. Followed the trail for about a mile and walked to the pine knob overlook. It's neat good view of Uniontown and plenty of huge rocks to play on." — hollis83 • Aug 18, 2012
